Spiced Bundt Cake

A slice of this spiced cake soaked in salted caramel sauce is everything you need this monsoon!


Salted Caramel Sauce

INGREDIENTS

  • Granulated white sugar - 100 g
  • Salted butter - 50 g
  • Fresh cream - 70 ml
METHOD
  1. Add the granulated sugar to a saucepan, spread it evenly and place it on low to medium heat.
  2. Once all the sugar has melted and turns to an amber color, add the butter and stir until all of it has melted.
  3.  Turn off the heat and stir in the fresh cream.
  4. Transfer the salted caramel sauce into a heatproof bowl and set aside.
Spiced Bundt Cake

INGREDIENTS

  • Butter - 120 g 
  • Powdered sugar - 320 g 
  • Curd - 240 g 
  • Vanilla essence - 4 ml 
  • Refined flour - 360 g 
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 g
  • Nutmeg powder - 1 g
  • Clove powder - 1 g
  • Baking powder - 4 g
  • Baking soda - 2 g 
  • Buttermilk - 140 ml
METHOD
  1. Grease and dust a Bundt cake mold. 
  2. Melt the butter in a large microwave safe bowl.
  3. Add the powdered sugar and stir till it completely dissolves.
  4. Stir in the curd, buttermilk and vanilla essence.
  5. In a separate bowl, sieve the refined flour, cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, clove powder, baking powder & baking soda.
  6. Slowly fold the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredient mixture to form a smoot batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the mold and bake at 165 degree C for 45 to 50 minutes.
  8.  Allow the cake to cool in the mold on the kitchen counter for 10 to 15 minutes.
Assembly 

METHOD

  1. After 10 to 15 minutes, unmold the Bundt cake.
  2. Cut a slice and pour some caramel sauce over it.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy!
